PAIN TREATMENT
NeuroPsyque has a multidisciplinary and integrated approach to the effective treatment of chronic pain and painful conditions. We combine the most advanced medical technologies available internationally with rehabilitation protocols tailored to the individual, guided by a truly specialised team.

Chronic pain and acute pain, caused by conditions rooted throughout the body, affect millions of people around the world and greatly jeopardise functional physical capacity and emotional well-being, affecting not only quality of life but also longevity. At NeuroPsyque, we realise that each pain experience is unique and therefore requires a unique approach. We are dedicated to minimising the impact of pain on the lives of those who come to us.

Our treatment protocols begin after a rigorous and considered diagnosis, and may include a process of reviewing current treatment, including a look at multiple biomarkers (analyses) and at aspects related to lifestyle and routines, a combination of non-invasive neuromodulation technologies, specialised physiotherapy, psychotherapy, and when necessary, carefully adjusted pharmacological intervention, aimed not only at symptomatic relief, but at functional recovery and lasting improvement.
PAINFUL CONDITIONS WE TREAT
Pain resulting from injury or dysfunction of the nervous system, including diabetic neuropathy, post-herpetic neuralgia, post-stroke pain and traumatic nerve injuries. It is characterised by sensations of burning, tingling, electric shocks or hypersensitivity to touch.
Generalised chronic pain syndrome accompanied by persistent fatigue, sleep disturbances, morning stiffness and characteristic pain points. It requires a multidisciplinary approach integrating neuromodulation, physiotherapy and specialised psychological support.
Recurrent headaches, including chronic migraine, tension headache and cluster headache. Treatment based on non-invasive neuromodulation protocols, particularly effective in preventing crises and reducing the intensity and frequency of episodes.
Persistent pain in muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints, including chronic low back pain, neck pain, myofascial syndrome and arthrosis. Combined approach of specialised physiotherapy, neuromodulation techniques and adapted therapeutic exercise.
A severe and debilitating painful condition that typically affects a limb after trauma, surgery or injury. It is characterised by pain disproportionate to the initial event, changes in skin colour and temperature, oedema and significant functional limitation.
Pain that persists beyond the normal healing period after surgical procedures. It requires specialist assessment to identify specific causes and implementation of an individualised therapeutic protocol, including neuromodulation techniques and advanced physiotherapy.
Pain associated with the oncological process or its treatments, including direct tumour pain, chemotherapy-induced neuropathy and post-radiotherapy pain. A compassionate, multidisciplinary approach aimed at maximising the patient's quality of life and comfort.
Compression of the median nerve in the wrist, causing pain, tingling and numbness in the hand and fingers. Non-surgical treatment through specialised physiotherapy, neuromodulation techniques and postural and ergonomic correction.
Chronic orofacial pain, including temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction, trigeminal neuralgia and facial myofascial pain. Integrated treatment with specialised physiotherapy techniques and neuromodulation.
TECHNOLOGY AND THE THERAPEUTIC ENVIRONMENT

SOME WORDS LEFT BY OUR PATIENTS...
"After years of suffering from chronic sciatica, NeuroPsyque's treatment was the only thing that really helped me. Anna's neurotherapy and physiotherapy changed my life. Thank you so much for everything."
- Conceição F., 64
"Fibromyalgia felt like a prison, with no one I could call. (...) Anyone who has this illness knows how desperate it is on a daily basis. (...) The attention they gave me is something I'll never forget. You helped me for the first time to manage the pain in a way I never thought possible. (...) I feel more in control, and I'm trying to lead a normal life. Thank you so much."
- Elizabete P., 45
"Finally a doctor who listens to his patients. The pain in my shoulder, which I still have, but very slight, prevented me from sleeping. I was operated on twice, but the pain always remained. Today, the fact that I don't get up tired every day is spectacular. I highly recommend the clinic, which has competent professionals who are always very attentive!"
- Pedro G., 39
"The treatment for my migraines has been incredible. The neurotherapy sessions have more than halved the number of attacks per week and the intensity is much lower. The reduction in medication also helps a lot with energy. Thank you for your help!"
- Eva R., 32
OUR THERAPEUTIC MEANS
Non-invasive neuromodulation technology that uses magnetic fields focused on specific parts of the brain in order to modulate the activity of the brain centres responsible for perceiving and processing pain, promoting lasting relief without medication.
A neuromodulation technique that applies a low-intensity electric current to the scalp, altering neuronal excitability, increasing the brain's plasticity and providing a significant reduction in pain.
Programmes tailored to the impositions of different painful conditions, with a focus on motor rehabilitation, made up of joint and neural mobilisation techniques, postural re-education and progressive functional training to recover physical capacity and eliminate or reduce pain.
Specialised soft tissue manipulation techniques that promote circulation and regulation of the vascular and lymphatic systems, including myofascial release, neural mobilisation, deep therapeutic massage and trigger point therapy to dissolve tension points and restore mobility.
When indicated, careful prescription and rigorous monitoring of pharmacotherapy, including analgesics, anti-inflammatories, neuromodulators and adjuvants, always with the aim of minimising doses and maximising efficacy and safety.
Psychological support with neuropsychology, psychology and psychiatry consultations, using specialists in cognitive-behavioural therapy focused on minimising the impact of pain on everyday life. Stress management and treatment of associated conditions such as anxiety and depression that amplify the painful experience.
In addition to the fact that the focus of all our approaches is on general, complete, long-term well-being, and that our professionals place so much importance on what you can do outside the office, we also have PNEI (Psycho-Neuro-Endocrine-Immunology) consultations, dedicated to improving practices/routines and lifestyle. We analyse the brain and mind, as well as the hormonal and immune systems.
Individualised protocols for muscle strengthening, stretching, stability training and cardiovascular conditioning, adapted to the patient's specific condition, aimed at functional restoration and resistance to the onset of pain.
Proximity to the clinical evolution of each patient, and adjustment of the treatment plan according to the individual response. We also value continuing education about body and mind and pain management, and are always available to answer questions and provide support throughout the process.
WHAT DISTINGUISHES NEUROPSYQUE
In a country like Portugal, where the number of underdiagnosed pain conditions and the lack of efficacy in treatments is very high, NeuroPsyque brings the possibility of person-centred medicine, which works for complete well-being, which aims to solve the root of problems, rather than simply remedying symptoms. We are the first clinic in Portugal to integrate various types of advanced neurotherapy with physiotherapy for motor rehabilitation and pain management. The complex nature of the individual means that different and adapted treatments have to be used even when dealing with the same pathology, and this is the principle by which we are guided.
Unlike less dynamic treatments, with little proximity in the follow-up, NeuroPsyque offers a complete team of specialists - doctors, physiotherapists, psychologists and nurses - who work in a coordinated and synchronised way on your treatment plan. This collaboration allows for a 360-degree view of your condition and more promising results.
We are pioneers in combining non-invasive neuromodulation techniques (EMT, tDCS and Neurofeedback) with other therapeutic means for the treatment of chronic pain. These scientifically validated technologies allow us to give our patients the greatest possible expectation of improvement, without dependency or significant side effects.
We don't believe in standardised protocols applied indiscriminately. Each patient undergoes a full initial clinical assessment and receives a therapeutic plan designed specifically for their needs, individual characteristics, personal goals and therapeutic response. The plan is dynamically adjusted according to their evolution.
NeuroPsyque is equipped with cutting-edge medical technology, including state-of-the-art EMT systems. Our facilities have been designed to provide comfort and an optimised therapeutic environment. In addition, the location and projection of our space have been designed to guarantee the privacy of those who come to us.
NeuroPsyque's professionals have specific advanced training in chronic pain, including international certifications, specialisation in neuromodulation and years of clinical experience in managing complex pain conditions. This expertise translates into more accurate diagnoses and more effective treatments.
One of our mantras is to minimise the impact of drugs on short- and long-term health. Dependence on painkillers, anti-inflammatories (particularly opioids) and other types of drugs that are more taxing on the body and nervous system must be avoided at all costs.
At NeuroPsyque, you're not just another number. We know your story, your challenges and your goals. We offer close monitoring, easy communication with the clinical team and ongoing support throughout the therapeutic process.
Our aim is not just to reduce pain, but to restore your ability to live fully. We work with you so that you regain autonomy, resume the activities you love, improve the quality of your sleep, reduce fatigue and recover your physical and emotional well-being.
Our clinical experience consistently demonstrates high success rates in the treatment of various painful conditions. Many of our patients who have not responded to other treatments have found in NeuroPsyque the effective and lasting solution they were looking for. Our results speak for themselves.
We don't just treat the acute phase or the initial improvement of chronic pain. We develop a personalised maintenance plan with each patient, including self-management strategies, preventive exercises and regular follow-up, ensuring that therapeutic gains are maintained over time and preventing relapses.
Choosing treatment for chronic pain is an important decision that can transform your quality of life in either direction. Above all, look for well-considered diagnoses and competent follow-up care. At NeuroPsyque, we combine science, technology, experience and humanisation to offer the best in pain treatment. Don't settle for suffering.
